MOMOTARO
Momotaro Japanese Pattern Cutting Cape
"Hamonshu" is a collection of designs created in 1903 (Meiji 3) by artist Yuzan Mori.
We've reinterpreted the organic wave patterns extracted from one of its sheets as a contemporary textile.
Superimposed on the motif is the allegory of "Momotaro."
Ink lines and bleeds spread like a river surface across a peach-colored ground.
This garment intertwines traditional Japanese designs dormant in classics with the iconic tale of Okayama.
A sharp yet soft contrast, the undulations of life hidden within stillness.
This is an homage to barbers who "move forward while embracing tradition."
The fabric is high-density polyester, and the piping is made of washable leather.
Like wearing a piece of art, it brings elegance and playfulness to the salon space.
